ISEPP members are excited to welcome Lisbeth Riis Cooper, Founder and Chair, of Mother Bear: Families for Mental Health, and Co-Founder and Vice Chair, CooperRiis Healing Community as one of our esteemed 2013 conference presenters.
Lisbeth will presents, New Approaches for Family Recovery, Mother Bear: Families for Mental Health. She will share her daughter’s story and about the founding of CooperRiis Healing Community. Her lecture will also give an overview of Mother Bear and the reasons for founding the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care.
Participants will learn more about family mental health support services, online family recovery, education, Family Hope Line, Family Dens and other online resources. An open discussion and question/answer session will follow.
To make audience aware of alternative recovery education and support services (and their impact) for individuals and families facing mental health challenges.
Family members, survivors, friends and professionals who have experienced or supported others with mental health challenges.
Biography: Lisbeth Riis Cooper is Founder and Chief Mother Bear of Mother Bear: Families for Mental Health, a recovery-oriented network of individuals, families, friends and professionals who are committed to helping families thrive through mental health education, recovery support and access to recovery-oriented resources and tools. Mother Bear is a nonprofit fund of the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care. Lisbeth is also the Founder and Vice Chair of CooperRiis Healing Community. She was instrumental in bringing therapeutic community-based model of healing to North Carolina in the service of people recovering from extreme emotional distress and mental health challenges.
